My brother in law is taking advantage what should i do?

Me and partner rent a house of his brother and sister in law it is not cheap it is the going rate for our area, my partner also works for his brother. Since moving into this house a year ago our lives have been hell its like we owe them something, My partners brother expects my partner to do bits around the house first of all it was build a new shed at the bottom of the garden then it was laying decking then it was putting in a new bathroom etc. His brother mostly covers the costs of these things but when they sell the house they will be benefiting, partner has to do all these things on his own time it in his own time which leads into another problem he only has one day a week off he always works overtime on sunday but his brother never pays him for it, It infuriates me i cannot sit and take it anymore i want to move but my partner wont stand up to his brother and he loves his job, Help he owes us nearly 2,000 we keep asking and he never gives, If i could up and leave i would do it tomorrow but my partner wont he feels he is letting his brother down please help i don't know how to deal with the situation.
