transand torque converter.? now it will not start???? All it does is crank over but not fire at all. Did nothing with the crank position sensor at all. So I do not think that will be the problem. Can anyone the KNOWS what they are talking about help at all? Any help would be awesome!!!

Had the same problem on a 97 with the 5.2 even pulled the tranny and checked the position of the ignition sensor again still would not fire finally hauled to my buddies shop and put it on a diagnostic scanner and cranked the engine to check the relays going to the ignition still nothing but it did flash the sensor we got nothing so we knew the timing sensor was not working in the end we replaced the ignition sensor and found that we hard damaged it when installing the tranny could not see very well on the second time around but the jeep cranked first time and has been running fine since that was almost two years ago, hope this helps.

The outer ring of the flexplate may be bent. Remove the inspection cover at the bellhousing and check .
