Hello,

I have a problem related to a question i posted earlier this week.
My brakes feel bound although fine when cold (or when just starting up) however they bind after driving for a while.
Over the past 3 weeks, i have had new brake pads, brake discs and calipers fitted. Yesterday, i had a master cylinder unit fitted and although it drove lovely just after this was fitted, and through today, on the way home from work, the FRONT brakes were fully locked down to the point, i couldnt even get my car into second gear and have had to leave it in a car park about a mile from my house because i couldnt drive it.
A mechanic friend has said that the flexi's (Brake Flexi's) are tatty and would probably fail the MOT (I do have about 6 months left on my MOT) Would these cause this problem? I would LOVE some advice as i am at my wits end with this.
Does anybody have no idea what else could be causing this?
The brake pipes were cleaned out also (inline pipes) when the master cylinder was fitted, please help :(

Thanks x
Hi,

The brake pedal is locked hard down at the moment, we abandonned the car about 6 pm and just went to pick it up, now its cooled down , it seems better but obviously i need to get this sorted as it happens every day, is checking the valve an easy job? I want to try and check everything possible before taking into a garage for the god awful labour charges :S xxx

Does it seem like the brake pedal is really hard? Check for a bad check valve on the brake booster, or the booster could be bad. Also they may have set the adjuster on the brake booster behind the master cylinder too tight. They should have checked that when they did the master cylinder.
