I have a 99 Sebring Convertible jxi, i replaced the brake pads today and now when i brake, the pedal goes all the way to the floor with little resistance, feels spongy and doesn't have as much braking force as it use to or i would like it to have. when i replaced my pads i followed these steps.
- removed the guide pin bolts
- removed the caliper off the Router
- removed the old brake pads
- took the brake fluid cap off
- depressed the calipers piston back into the caliper
- put in the new pads
- replaced the caliper and guide pin bolts.
i then did the same steps on the other side, replaced the brake fluid cap, and pumped the brakes. can anyone please tell me what i did wrong and what i need to do to fix it. thank you in advance.
