I've had braces for about two months now and i hate them. I don't mind my smile or the way i look when i smile with them, but it's just hate the braces pushes my mouth forward. Just imagine the mouth of a gorilla and how it comes forward, kinda like the one in this picture

See how the gorilla's mouth comes forward, especially the upper lip area, mine's like that too because the braces in my mouth push it forward. I really hate it and i've to wear them for two years. And i just got them!! Can anything be done? I really hate the way my mouth looks and the way it makes me look in general. I've my first adjustment in a few weeks and i'll bring it up at the office, but i don't know if anything can be done about it. I don't even get any more stares from guys because of my mouth now.
And apart from these, my speech has been distorted since i got them. People have a hard time hearing my words because i haven't been able to speak properly in them. It's really bad. At work, it's awful and embarrassing having to repeat yourself. When i'm even talking i can hear the words coming out of my mouth and that they don't sound right. I try to speak well and enunciate, but still the braces prevent me from pronouncing and speaking clearly. I don't know what to do.I don't know of i'm even going to get used to talking with them. I got them because i wanted to fix my teeth and i know that'll do a lot for my self-esteem because i've always been self-conscious of my teeth, but getting them in brought me heartache and brought down my self-esteem.
