My boyfriend wants to join the army, I need some help!?

My boyfriend that ive been with for 4 years now wants to join the army he has always talked about it but now its serious. We have a 1 year old daughter. I want to know what he and myself are getting ourselves into. Is the army worth him joining? We do have a big financial problem will him joining the army help us? The only thing im worried about is if something were to happen to him! Thats the only thing that keeps me from agreeing with him every night we talk about it. We want to get married soon as well. Give me some advice please!
 
everything mr.wiz dude said is true. but what i am going to say is it depends on what he plans on going into. the guard, reserves, or active duty. reserves are not stationed any where but if a war does erupt...reserves deploy first. active duty is already stationed somewhere. the guard is state wise. you know, you should really visit the recruiting office with him...be aware that some recruiters do lie...their job is to recruit...they have to receive a certain quota. get married before he goes. easiest way to explain why is better benefits. make sure his contract is the least amount of years...so just incase it isnt all he wanted...he can get out or if it is what he wanted...he can just "increase" his contract. thats what i am doing...mine is six.
 
That's a very difficult question-i lived though viet nam-your both going to have consider what might happen and overcome your fears-otherwise it will be a very long 4 years-thanks Codyjo
