not sure what it is we don't get (although with that said there numerous things we don't get, nor ever will get). your bf is right, and he said it very well. as far as when you get older, married and little sex, no, you would not be one of the girls, you would still be a couple who enjoy each other, just not sex.
 
I'm a little confused, but I think it means a guy should have plenty friends, but only one he's romantically involved with.
