...who won't be in the same city? He is in the Navy, and is a police officer in the military. He wants to become a cop for a civilian job as well. We live in Pittsburgh and it's hard to become a cop here. He has connections in Baltimore (he drills in Wallops Island, which affiliates with Baltimore) and Baltimore is in dire need of cops (Duh, it's a bad city) So he is there right now taking the test (He's in the classroom as I type this) He sat me down and asked my honest opinion about his decision.. I told him I was behind him 100% (We've been dating for a year and a half, pretty seriously. We have a good relationship and are in love<3) If he passes, he's in the academy for 4-6 months (I can't remember exactly) and he must be on the Baltimore police force for at least 2 years before he can transfer anywhere (he wants to transfer back to pittsburgh)
My question is this.. Ladies (or gentlemen) how would you handle the situation if you were in my shoes? I told him I was behind him 100%, he's only 4 hours away, I would come visit him, (I can't live there because of school, but we have an apartment together now which means we won't be living with each other anymore) But to be perfectly honest, I feel a little.. abandoned? Lost? Nervous? I haven't told him this because he has a lot on his plate and I don't want to be something else he has to worry about. He'll be in the middle of a bad city and even though he grew up in similar circumstances, I'm still scared. But I'm doing the right thing, right?
Ladies, what did you do when your men were in this situation? What WOULD you do if this were to happen? And Men, what should I expect? What should HE expect?
