My boyfriend seems to frequently tell me about the daily horrible event that he heard on the news every day. Today was that teenager getting beat up by a bunch of other kids and they videotaped it. And god yes I agree it is so horrible, but does it make me a bad person because I don't want to hear about it?
I didn't hear a thing about it until he told me.
Is it wrong that I don't want to hear about it.
I consider myself such a compassionate person, and have children myself. I just feel like I can't deal with all that negativity that just screams at us in the news in my life, and he tells me that he is just staying up on current events and I am not.
I feel if I want to hear about it, I can pick and choose headlines online etc.. and not have it spoon fed to me...
