my boyfriend has an odd personality what do you think maybe I am the weird one, lol?

My boyfriend just does some odd things.. He doesn't listen and yes I get it he is a guy, but out of no where he will just hop a train and leave or if we have a disaggreement about something. He says he loves me but has told me "oh you would look better if you did this with your hair" or maybe I should by you clothes.. this is insulting right? Sometimes it just feels like he is beating me down with these comments, now I am no raving beauty but I am pretty and I am educated I do work at for disabled and homeless people. Is he rude or is it me? It's funny because he will go on and on how much he loves me, but then do something caddy (like walk away mid sentence when I am saying something, or asking a question) no-one not my friends or family treat me this way. Recently I went to the doctors and when I came home he had hopped the train and left for philly no note or anything just to call me 9 hours later and say he was sorry...I feel this is somewhat crazy!
