My Blackberry TrackBall Wont Work?

Well, just recently I turned on my phone and I typed my password and when I tryed using my trackball it would work for a couple of minutes but when you try doing left or right up or down it spazzes out and the trackball moves around anywhere and like sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't and I need help I did everything q-tip with alcohol and it still didn't work I tried everything what can I do besides replacing the trackball , I do not want to take the trackball out,
