my blackberry does not work?

I have the blackberry 8110 pear it was on tmobile i have had it unlocked and put my o2 simcard in it works as it lets me send messages and make calls put it does not let the internet work it did when i used my tmobile simcard in. my friend told me i have to download something off the o2 website and change the setting on my phone .

Please help
