My Blackberry Bold 9700, bought from ebay, has no internet?

I bought it 'brand new' from ebay.
I know it hadn't been switched on before because I had to set it up.

I'm with Virgin and have the unlimited internet pay monthly deal.
But, my BBM doesn't work and neither does my internet.

When I try and go on the internet it says

'This is a wi-fi service. Please ensure your device has an active wifi connection and try again.'

So I phoned Virgin and they said all they can do is I have to search for the WAP on their site and enter it in manually on my phone.

Where do I enter the WAP and will that solve the problem??
