...pay for yourself? I'm bad at this sort of stuff and always seem to get stuck paying for people. I am having my birthday party at a bufet (about $25 per person) and am bad about mentioning money. What's a good way to let people know that it is pay per person/they pay for themselves?

Invite people to join you for your brithday party at "such and such" and that the cover charge is $25 but it's all you can eat... and remeber there your friends they will understand you can't pay for there lunch, maybe plan it as a get together/ birthday, like say i was thinking we could all get together for dinner on my birthday, it's at "such and such" and the dinner charge is $25 pluse tax, don't forget the tax don't want to get suck with that bill
