my bike got stolen ;(?

just few minutes ago i heard the door of the shed which i usually put my bike in (i know that's kind of dumb) slaming (because of the wind) and i went to close it but when i was checking out the shed i didn't find my bike.
i am so annoyed and sad at the same time - that bike cost me £200
what do i do next?
my friends told me that even if i told the police they won't do anything.
 
You should report it to the police and give them any photo's you have the bike. Its always helpful to mark your property with you postcode with an ultra violet pen so it can be returned if the police do find it. I normally put my postcode on a piece of paper inside the handle bar rubber too. I hope you get it back.
