My betta fish makes to much slime?

everytime i clean my betta fish tank within the next 2-3 days there is a slime like stuff all over the tank and floating at the top . he is in a 2.5 gallon tank and i am just wondering what this stuff is and how he can make so much so fast. thanks
 
That is such a small tank :S
first off, buy a new tank. a bigger one.
and get another fish so this doesn't get lonely.
maybe this is... well i rly dunno, but i suggest u get a tank cleaner o.O
 
There are many reasons for this slime to occur. I've found it only happens when a Betta is in an unfiltered tank and that it may well be a byproduct of bubblenesting.

If the fish was in a proper filtered tank, you can get a sponge filter for a 2.5g tank, the surface movement would prevent this slime accumulating.
 
This is because it's an un filtered tank. with him making bubbles for a nest and water being still, it builds up. Try a partial water change, a small one, in between your regular ones. Or get a small air pump and sponge filter.
