My Betta Fish is on the bottom?

Did you make sure the water was room temperature when you put him in? If not then he's probably going to die in a few days. xD
 
Since I bought him a new fish tank that was smaller yesterday, he has just been sitting on the bottom. I tried feeding him, but when he reaches the top, he ignores it and goes back to the bottom. When I tap on the glass, he just sits there like hes dead. I've had this fish for about 1 1/2 - 2 years. What should I do? Is he sleeping?
