My Betta Fish is changing colors?

So, I bought a betta fish 2 days ago.
When I bought him, he was blue and vibrant.
Now, he's turning red.
Is this ok? He lives in a .5 gallon fish bowl, which is all I have room for. And his water is clean, I use the drop things for cleaning tap water. His water temperature is about room temp. I've been trying to feed him but he won't eat, could that be it?
