I feed him the Betta pellets that the PetSmart employee recommended. Since he's a social and playful fish, I thought he just liked to play with the pellets, knock them around in the water and watch them float. Well, this morning I had enough time to actually observe him. He does like to play with the pellet for a little while but when it comes to eating it, he'll take it in his mouth but after like 10 seconds he spits it back out, whole. He'll continue trying and once the pellet gets 'waterlogged' and soft, he has to continue spitting it in and out, breaking it into pieces before he can successfully finish it off. Is this normal? Should I change his diet?
He's not small(saw some at PetSmart), he's a normal sized male Betta. Hikariis is the brand of the food I have.
