Each betta has a different personality anyways, but most are pretty easygoing. Bettas dont normally get along with guppies or gouramis. Thats pretty standard. Frogs are a hit or miss. I have a betta that doesnt allow frogs in his tank, but hes ok with tetras. Then I also have bettas that do just fine with frogs.

Also, if he doesnt accept something, he will never change that. Just separate them and dont try it again.

Ok so to start of if your advice is that Beta’s are just aggressive fish then thank you goodbye, yes Beta are aggressive but only toward other beta fish (normally) or if u are going to tell me to put it in a cup or flower vase or something so I can keep fish in the other tank you people are also excused (and if you keep a beta this way you have problems buy a real tank) if you have real advice then please read on.

So hears the problem/why I think he is being overly aggressive. I got my beta, fishy, (yes I am vary creative but he is my 5th beta and I’m running out of names) about 2 years ago from a pet store (you know how they keep them in little containers, which seams really mean by the way) well I put him by himself in a 1 to 2 gallon hexagon shaped tank (he seams to like it in there) and about a year ago I tried to put a guppy in there (it was only a little smaller than fishy) and he attacked it (I separated them and put the guppy back in my other fish tank and haven’t tried this since) as I said this is my 5th beta and none of them have ever attacked my other fish, and now I would like to get an African dwarf frog and after reading up on them I don’t think it’s a good idea to put it in the big tank with the other fish (I think he will get eaten). Now I think the reason fishy is aggressive toward “not beta fish” is because he has never been with other fish. Does anyone know if I can get him to accept another fish in his tank (or the frog)?

… And if anyone has asked this question (I doubt it but its happened before) then sorry I really did look.
Ok then we have a slight mix up I call it a guppy but its gray and has short little fins if you know what it is then let me know.
And it’s a 1 or 2 gallon tank not a ½ gallon (ya its small but bigger than my last one)
And someone wrote in another comment that changing the décor and adding when adding a new fish will trick the beta into thinking its in a new tank making it less aggressive I wanted to get him some real plants anyway so I think I will try that but if it falls I can use my old beta tank for the frog / or but it in the big tank.
