My best friend is 19 and he has a absolutely drop dead gorgeous girlfriend -- and i've liked her for a long time. However I digress..they got into a fight recently, and he went over to his girlfriends house (while her parents were away) to talk. He tried talking to her about why they fought and she said she wanted to break up. he got so upset, he raped her. He just told me about it today, and said it happened yesterday. I feel so bad for them both...He had so much going for him. He used to model and i have yet to meet a girl who doesn't find him extremely good looking, he's athletic, he got accepted into Harvard and wanted to become a doctor, and he's ALWAYS a calm guy, he never gets angry, avid church goer, doesn't touch drugs and takes such amazing care of his widowed mother who's undergoing chemo. I could never imagine he would do something like this..What charges may he face if she reports him? I know he's going to jail, but for how long? Is there anyway out of it? How long might he be in jail? I really feel terrible right now because he's been my best friend since we were both in diapers, and he's a genuinely good guy...I know it sounds weird saying he's a good guy since he raped someone but he really is. I even asked whether he was scared of jail and he said he was, but he deserves everything -- which of course i agree with. Anyways, if anyone could tell me in very specific detail whats going to happen to him if convicted..I know it varies but if anyone could tell me under what circumstances he could get the minimal jail sentence, I would really appreciate it.
