My 1991 Chevy S10 was older than me and was with me my entire life. I loved that truck. My family went on road trips, dropped me off to elementary and middle school, was my first car in high school, and commuted with it in college. It only had 46,000 miles on it too! However, I got in a car accident which wasn't my fault at all. The police officer and the insurance people say I have 0% liability. It was totaled
. I'm a rational person and I know I shouldn't buy it back since even the engine was damaged. So now I wanna get as much money as possible out of the insurance and possibly make the situation as hard as possible for the other party (sorry I'm slightly cynical and want them to suffer since they were able to drive off with their Yukon XL while destroying my truck). My family and I live on social security so we can't afford to buy a car and I still need to commute to college. So does anyone have advice on how I could maximize my profit from this situation so I feel like I did as much as possible in memory of my truck and just to help out my family.
Also for bodily damage I had a sore back and so I made the mistake of going to a just a chiropractor and not the doctor since I have too much pride to go to the doctor.
Please can anyone give me advice for this especially since it's now impossible to find an early 90s truck with only 46,000 miles on it.
