my bellybutton piercing is very infected, im going to the doctors in a few days

what should i expect? /:? ive had it for like 7 months and im pretty sure because i changed it out for a new belly ring too early is what caused the infection, and maybe because the ring i replaced it with wasnt the finest metal. i dont want to take it out at all :( im scared the doctors will make me take it out...
