So I've got a 1993 model Holden Barina/Suzuki Swift. Anyway I was reading the original brochure that came with the car many years ago. It claims fuel efficiency is 5L per 100kms, but it also said that 4 different people took 4 of these Barinas for a drive around Australia (14,000kms) and they averaged 3.7L per 100kms. Toyota Prius is 4.4L per 100kms. What's all the hype about the Prius? My car seems to be more economical, was cheaper to buy, isn't harming the environment with all those battery material and still has performance comparable to the Prius. Why doesn't Holden reproduce these older Barinas? They are fantastically economical, more so than the current Barina.
