My back really hurts

Hi can anybody help me.
I have been suffering with horrible back pain on my left side just above my buttock. It hurts too bend for the easy things like filling the dishwasher and the washing machine. My back also gets very stiff if i stay in any position for too long and i struggle to turn over in bed without it hurting. This has been going on for around 9 months now and it seems to be getting worse. I am a bit of a wimp with going to the doctors too which doesnt help. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
Sorry to say, but a trip to the doctor is in order. You need to get some basic tests done, starting with some x-rays and probably moving on to an MRI. You may have some degenerative disc disease going on, maybe arthritis, maybe a nuraber of other things.

I know it's a pain in the neck to go to the doctor, but it's better to get a diagnosis and figure out how to treat this. You don't have to stay in pain.

Hi, I agree with Blue. It sounRAB like it might be a muscle spasm from where you describe it, but of course I can't say for sure. But even if it is a spasm, you need to find out why it's spasming. It could be a muscle pull, strain, or something going on in your spine or possibly elsewhere.
