MY AUDIOVOX PORTABLE VHS PLAYER AVP-7200 TV HAS PICTURE BUT NO SOUND?

I bought a 2002 Chevy Tahoe and it came with what I that was a dvd player but was actually a vhs which is alright for now but I turned it on and played a tape I got the picture to work but what is the trick to get sound to come thru there are no plug ins for headphones just rca jacks on the back and the audio jack is plugged in
