...spark and it seems to have...? compression. Can it be something with the coil valves or the carburetor? How much will it be if I take it to a Yamaha dealer or a specialist?

Is it getting gas to the carb.,have you tired a new spark plug. do you have a full charge on the batt. If you take it to a dealer you are going to be looking at 65.00 to 80.00 an hour for them to find out whats wrong with it and that doesnt include the parts

Yes it can be something! It will cost the shop rate times the number of hours it takes to fix plus parts for example $80 per hour at two hours of labor to replace a $40 part would be ($80x2hrs)+$40= $200 billable.

the old saying: turn the gas on dummy!Make sure you are getting fuel into the engine. If you are getting spark and have compression/air, fuel is really the only other thing.
