My blue Amex account just sold to collection agency, to my surprise - website still showing account there. Very rude collection rep contacted me yesterday - my first knowledge that the account wasn't with AMEX. Very rude man. I am so honest and willing to take responsibility. What if we can't structure a repayment plan? The card is in my name, but I understand that my husband can be contacted and his wages can be garnished. We want to negotiate a repayment plan, but are concerned it may not be acceptable with collections agency. Will they sue me? If so, how long does that process take? Debt is high - $15K. What are my options? Help!
