My Adobe Flash Player plays for a few moments, then stops unexpectedly & never

resumes play. Can anyone help!? I have Windows Vista home basic (32 bit) & Adobe flash player 9 on my system, I realize flash 10 is the newest, but updating to flash player 10 restricts some things on AOL so fp9 is recommended. Now I have a few problems. My flash player only plays videos, etc. for a few moments then it stops unexpectedly. It never resumes play although it looks as if it's trying, but it never does. Often times it quits playing in the exact same spot as it had previously, but not always. I will click on resume...still nothing. I am VERY hesitant to uninstall & reinstall again, it hasn't helped in the past & if I try again, who know's how long it'll be before I am able to download & reinstall again, also it's almost impossible to download an older, previous version, which is the 2nd problem I have. I'm having an awful time downloading, I'll begin to download & no matter what it is I'm downloading, it won't download all the way...it hangs too, just like my flash player content & then I'll get an error message! I am sooooooo frustrated, I have been trying for days to fix this. I've gone all over online trying to fix this, to no avail. I can't even stand the Adobe website anymore. We have more than one computer in the house, the other runs Windows XP...same problem so I really don't want any help from Adobe...they don't know how to fix it, I hate to sound so critical, but they couldn't even work out the bugs before allowing us to download thier problem. To put it simply, I don't want to go to that site again for a solution, my problem originated there, to attempt to find a solution I feel would just be foolish,. I certainly don't want compound my problems. I don't want double trouble! Can someone please help, sorry for the long description of my problems, but I'm frustrated beyond belief & I'm soooooooo at my end!!!!!
