So my 99 Camry (186000 miles) recently started having trouble starting in the morning before work. The way to fix it was to either move the shifter (park to drive and back) or try to crank again. The battery is fine. I think it all has something to do with the rear crankshaft bearing/oil seal. There has been a super slow leak of oil from that area (i can't see where) the oil gets onto the transaxle and under the car (makes it look like the tranny is leaking but this is def oil leaking) Plus she has been consuming oil. The new issue is that I have this gritty sound coming from what sounds like the area between the transmission (Auto) and rear of the engine. I added some tranny fluid and some oil with no change in sound (i recently changed both). The sound stays the same at all rpms and does not effect motion. It just doesn't sound good. I need the real pro's out there to help me. If i need to rebuilt this little girl i have to do it fast, as riding my bike in the snow is going to be depressing.

sounds like a problem any shop could help with.. so open the phone book and look under auto repair call three places that are close by and let one have a look at it.... its not going to be cheap
