It is a high pitched squeal for a half second at any speed in any gear. It also feels like the car coasts slightly for that half second, not like the engine dies or anything but it's unlike anything I have ever run into. I just changed the accessory pulley because that was whining constantly. Could it be another pulley, perhaps on the alternator? Or could it be my timing belt? I just did my plugs and wires thinking that might fix it, and while it did make it run better, the stinking slip is still there. There is no real consistency to it but it mostly happens after I let off the gas real quick. Even that is not consistent. It happens once maybe every 5-20 minutes. It also happens sometimes with my foot on the gas. Any help from a mechanic or someone who has had this happen to them would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. (I'd be happy to give more info if necessary)
