My '98 Ford Windstar has a leaking-air kind of sound coming from the dashboard...

...when the ignition is on now.? It just started yesterday and the car is still running fine, but that weird whooshing sound seems to come out of the dashboard, even for several seconds after I turn off the ignition. What can that be? Thanks!
 
The control door for your heater/AC is vacuum operated. If there is a hole in the line or the line has come off, you will hear a hiss of air getting sucked into the vacuum line. Trace down the vacuum lines and look for any cracks or holes and replace as needed.
