The battery is brand new and the alternator has been bench tested twice. What else could be causing it to act like the alternator is bad. It runs until it sucks the battery dry

If your jp is branded, I mean no alterations has been done on electrical, please start checking on fuses ( box, wire fuse) segment by segment, socket by socket. If the circuit is complete and is working, try to test first the diode of alternator. I have also a wrangler here but with different motor. Good luck pal.

the battery could have a dead cell or your distributor is bad on it. i would first check the battery just because it is the easiest to check

the battery probably has dead cell. i had a 02 ford explorer that had a dead cell battery napa said the battery was fine and we went and replaced the starter then turns out the battery had a dead cell. if the battery still has a warranty get a new battery
