My 92 Honda Accord Ex is making a clicking noise under the dash on left hand side.?

Sometimes the car will start but when the clicking noise starts it will die again. I smelled a burning like smell the other day before it started to die on me. Does anyone know what this could be? Could it be a relay switch? Please help, thank you.
