My 92' F-150 300ci 6cyl. won't start... I have driven this truck for 2yrs. with no problem until today. I drove the truck today and I had just replaced a tail light bulb hopped in it to run to the store a block away and when i came out of the store it acted like the battery was dead... then i got a jump and it fired right up, i put it in drive and made it like 10ft. then it died again... again it acted like the battery was dead so i tried to jump it off again and the engine turned over like it should and it fired up for a second then died again so i let the battery charge a lil with the jumper cables then tried again . and again and again and it acts like it wants to start but it wont (kinda like its outta fuel, but she has a full tank) then when i took the jumper cables off it appears the battery is dead and wont do anthing at all... So to sum it all up... it acts like the battery is dead until i hook up the cables then it turns over like normal but wont start (like its outta fuel) and when i take the cables off its like the battery is dead again.... Can anyone help PLEASE!? I need this truck its my daily driver and has been a very very reliable truck until today and thats why i'm so puzzled cuz it never gave me any kind of warning or acted up at all... Thanks for your time...
Thanks guys... The alternator was my first thought also but it won't start when jumping it it only turns over like its out of fuel but it has a full tank of gas and its getting fuel to the carb...
