my 92 Buick century won't show the speed its going and cuts out on me?

it had stopped dead and would not start i found a cable had burned off running from the positive side of the battery i repaired it and it started and i could drive it again but the speedometer would not show the speed and it would cut back and not go fast at all, so where should i look for the problem, thanks for any help.
 
bad coil pack or coil pack plate replace the plate first then the coil packs.
