My 91 buick regal keeps cutting out when I put it in drive or reverse, but is...

...fine in park. Ideas? The buicks had tons of repairs done, but nothing seems to be working. First the trans went out. It would only go up to 25 in L2. So I got that replaced. Then one day while driving the entire dash went black and about 2mins later the steering, brakes and gas locked up, then the engine died. The alternator I thought had died, so I replaced it. Ran for about a week good. Then cut out the same fashion in an intersection. So I looked it over again and noticed the plugs and wires were original and in terrible shape. So those were replaced. Then it still wouldn't work. So I took it in to get looked at. They determined the throttle chip? and computer board were fried. So they got replaced. It ran fine for about a month after than and then back to the same thing. It runs fine in park or neutral, but as soon as you put in in drive or reverse it starts shaking bad and cuts out, unless you keep your foot on the gas. Any ideas on how to fix this buick?
EDIT- The only things done in a shop was the trans and comp boards. Both at separate shops. I did the rest myself. I'll try the cat replacement though. Sounds like that might be the issue after all.
