Hello! This is my first time on this, but i'll say what I know and maybe you guys can help my dad and I out. My dad just bought a 9" Ford differential (411) (Used). His friend (anonymous) who is fairly familiar with cars tightened the ring and pinion to 3,000ths? Something fairly tight. BUT when he was long gone after he tightened it up, I put it on the rear axle and put everything back together. (1932 Ford Coupe w/289 small block 302 boss heads). Because he did tighten it tight AND he not loosen the opposite side too (I noticed), did he over tighten one side too much and not allow the bearings to move freely? Is this what is making the humming sound around 20+ mph whether accelerating or decelerating? Thanks in advance. Much appreciated
