I use navif*** and phoe*** to de-brand it.

Maybe so, but when I tried debranding per your instructions after updating, those were the results I got. Applying the software update in phone from a T-mobile phone fresh from the box updated it to a custom version of 12.2.082.343.02 with a date of 17-05-2010. That date stamp of May 17th is likely more recent than the generic.

Followed nodakawa's instructions yesterday, worked like a charm. Phone is fully debranded.

I can confirm that helloox does not work on this firmware. According to app manager the version I tried was '2.00 (3)' . It just sits at 'unpacking files' and never completes.

That is a product code for fw12. I'll wait until HelloOx supports that firmware.
Thanx for the info.
Is it the first or the second one on the navifirm list?

My point is that once you've updated the T-mobile phone, you can't use those instructions to debrand until a newer firmware comes out. It's irrelevant to nokiabrock whether debranding is better or not as he can't at this point (short of a dead phone type flash I suppose).

Are there any benefits of helloox other than the convenience of being able to install things you'd otherwise need to sign with the SAME certificate you've already signed hellox with? I mean does it give you any extra capabilities besides this convenience?
I suppose it is possible it could totally disable program installation / usage security such that you could 'root' the phone and have installed programs run with even higher security access than the certificate you used to sign hellox with could itself grant by signing other apps, but I'm unclear as to whether this is so.

If it is just for the convenience only for not having to sign the stuff you want to install, I could do without it. If however it gives you truly full access to the phone, that could be handy for some purpose, and is a consideration if it may not ever(?) be compatible with a given firmware.

Can someone who has debranded list the following:

What new features are enabled?

What new limitations(or 'cons') come with it?(the GPS taking longer is an example, lower maps version)

Are you still unable to customize the home screen?

GPS lock-in almost instantly with the latest OVI maps. The only thing I miss is the integrated messaging application.
Home screen is customizable, branded or not.

I actually don’t mind the Tmobile branding. The nuron truthfully isn’t crippled by the branding not like some others in the past. My biggest gripe was its sluggest operation, witch I felt was a result of the branding. As I stated in an earlier post. The latest update appears to have fixed its sluggishness.

I am using phoenix to debrand my tmobile nk 5230. i follow all steps mentioning before, but when I click "Refurbish", I got a message saying" Flash operation didn't start correctly. To recover, follow next instrcutions.."
I was trying update it with RM-588 rom.
I dont know where did I go wrong. please help me.
