My 5 yr old indoor cat will become an outdoor cat for a year - which shots

I believe you should deffinately ask ur vet. After all, that will be the person who'll put the shots on the cat, that should be the person that knows best.
 
depends where you live really..

ask a vet.. the shots will be have to be given and boostered so you need to start 1 month before going outside..
an indoor cat may freak out - I really really hope you are not putting it on a farm or something like that for a year.. it wont survive

If she's going to be outside, she should receive vaccinations for Rabies, Feline Distemper (RCCP/FVRCP), Feline Leukemia, & FIP.
You may also want to have her tested for Feline Leukemia & FIV.
