My 5 year old wants to plant apple seeds sounds dumb but what is the right way to go

about it? ok so you cut the apple open and take the seeds but seriously is that it? do they need to be dried out? please I know this sounds dumb but has anyone ever tried? How about a lemon too? Thanks
