Im a first time mummy and my babygirl is 5 weeks old. She cries almost the whole time shes awake unless im nursing her, she groans and struggles while being held and doesnt like cuddles. I feed her, change her, swaddle her, i try singing and talking to her, walking her around, but nothing seems to work. She'll nurse for 45mins to an hour sometimes , then ill burp her and then ten mins later (sometimes sooner) she'll get upset and start crying again. So i'll change her, try talking to her, singing, walking and then nurse again etc etc over and over but she never seems content.. My whole day is spent trying to calm her and keep her happy but she seems miserable (the only way I can calm her is feeding but the feeds are 20-30 mins apart!). By the time she finally falls off to sleep on my breast it is about 3pm the days almost over and im spent so I fall off to sleep, we dont really go out anywhere because its too much and she cries the whole time and I cant really walk round feeding her in the supermarket or in the car, i miss out on having breakfast and lunch ( and showers ! ) until my partner gets home. Im so stressed sometimes I break down in tears. Can anyone help me or give me any advice and does it get better? I know newborns do cry alot and my midwife told me its a growth spurt, but the thing is, shes been like this since day one so im not so sure... please help ='(
