The dogs are different breeds, he is much larger than her. Is he in heat or is she in heat? He has already mounted her twice.

Males do not go into heat. Females do and this excites the male.Save your self some future head aches and get them both altered. Why do so many people want to contribute to the shelters with their experiments and neglectful ownership of their animals.

She might be in heat, is her vulva swollen? has she had a bloody discharge? She it too young to breed, please educate yourself on proper breeding techniques or get your dogs fixed (actually, you should do this anyways- if he is much larger, the pups could kill her, and the world doesn't need more mutts).

snip snip. Males don't go into heat. They get a whiff of the scent produced by a female in heat, and this makes them want to procreate.

Yes, she is in heat. The size and breed of the dog does not matter when it comes to that. My mother has a miniature pincher(male) and a chocolate lab(female) and he tries to mount her all the time. The best thing to do is get both of them fixed.

She's in heat males don't come into heat. Your best bet is to have the female spayed and the male neutered and you will never have to worry about him getting her pregnant. Starting now keep them apart!

If your female is not spayed get her to the vet immediately and have her spayed.
If he has not been neutered have that done also.
This is no joke. If he's mounted her twice and she's not spayed she's already pregnant.
If he has not been neutered he will continue this behavior. And it won't just be her. He will hump everything and everyone that gets near him.
IF they have both been fixed talk to your vet about this and see if he can recommend a medication that will decrease his need to do this.

Hi, I think that male dogs are always "in Heat." Unless you are planning on mating your female dog, and selling the puppies, you need to have her "fixed."

Your female sounds like she is possibly in season. If her vulva area is swollen, she is definately in season and will premit him to breed her around the 10th day of her season. If you don't won't a litter of pups ,you will have to confine the female so he can't get to her.

If they accidentally breed get her aborted. If there is a large size difference then you don't want her to die in childbirth. Keep them apart to prevent a pregnancy. You can't do much about the whining. All teenage boys moon for their girlfriends.
