my 3100 not recieving updates, tried transponder 13, any ideas?

my 3100 not recieving updates, tried transponder 13, any ideas?
BEV Said menu 611 set to TP 13 power off remote, and should turn back on(but doesnt), and in 30 min should work.
also tried a memory dump and still nothing
 
What is your software version? Go to menu 6-1-3 to obtain it, or just take out the smartcard. It should be E541.

If it's not press cancel from there, and press 5 for system updates. Make sure that the checkmark would be at whithout my permission. Then go bak to your TV by either pressing cancel several time or the VIEW TV button and put your TV at channel 198. This will ensure you are at transponder 13. Power off the receiver and the new version will dowmload.

If by update you mean that guide doesn't provide you the latest info, or you get a no info message when you press guide simply remove the smartcard and put it back. This should resolve your issue
 
well my reciever was unplugged for a month now my channels dont show up. the software is E541, i also tried pulling out the card. my channels just dont come up and the reciever is added to the acount. and everything, i ll clarify the channels show up but the ones im subscribed to are red.
 
This is the most common problem with the 3100. This is what we call a red guide issue.

2 options:
->go to bell.ca/missingchannels and follow the steps they will explain how to reset the receiver or
->call 1-888-SKY-DISH and ask them to send you a hit. As soon as the agent sends it remove the smartcard and put it back. All the channels should be back whithin 15min-2 hours
