Luna (moon in Spanish) is my 3 yr old male cat and has been living with me since he was about 2 weeks. Now, with three years old, he has been acting very aggressive. For example, the day when we moved to another house, he attacked my mother. Five months later, when I came back from vacation, he attacked me because didn't recognize me. And today, my cousin came over to spend a few weeks in the house, and Luna is acting suspicious like hiding under the bed, etc. My mother has just had enough. 
She wants me to get rid of Luna, she doesnt want him anymore because of his behavior. I love my cat and I don't want that for him. I spent 3 years with him and I love him. But I also understand that if his behavior is causing some problems... I just stopped crying I'm sorry. I tried to convice my mother but she will not understand. . What should I do? Should I take him to a shelter? I'm not working right now to take him to the vet :'( I'm feeling helpless and afraid of my mother taking actions over Luna (get rid of him, or giving poison to him ) I really need help.
He does not have any health problem. Even when I try to play with him, sometimes, he tries to bite me. I spend plenty of time with him but he still acting up.
