My 2005 Ford Five-Hundred has a small water leak @ the top of windshield.

Windshield has never been replaced.? There are no visible cracks in glass or moldings. I could see multiple water drip marks running down inside windshield from the top.They appear after a heavy rain. What could be the cause?
The windshield is bonded to frame of car to increase strength. A glass dealer stated that a small crack will not leak. I could see drip marks running down from the top of windshield on the inside of car.
 
That's pretty unusual for an original glass to leak but it happens.I would be sealing it myself for little or no cost.Apply masking tape to the molding and glass,leave a 1/8 inch gap where they meet.Apply clear silicone from a tube and wipe it in,removing the excess.remove the masking tape.If needed,repeat the process at the body side.
