my 2004 ford taurus wouldn't start?

It could be the altenator, take off the positive battery terminal while car is running and see if it shuts down. If it does its the altenator.
 
I woke up Saturday and went to the store come out and my taurus wouldn't start tried to start it about 3 hours later and it started Sunday I tried to start it and nothing waited about 5 mins and started slow today I drove it to work got off from work an it wouldn't start is it the starter?????? HELP
