...cool at a stop light? the clicking noise is constant when the ac is on, and it doesen't cool when I am sitting still. I have a set of ac guages I took a pressure reading from the ac while its running. when the ac is off both hi and lo read 115 psi. when running at idle with the ac on max and the fan in both front and the back unit on high, the pressure on the low side it at 90 psi and the high is at 225. when I increase the rmp on the engine the pressure on the low goes to about 60 - 65 psi and the high goes to about 300 psi and then the cooling fan comes on for the radiator! does it need freon? or is there some other thing wrong? I have no warrenty on this van, so I am on my own as far as repairs! Please Help!
no I checked the clutch! the compressor stays on. the clicking is very fast paced, it sounds almost like a popping sound coming from the compressor. I've been a mechanic for about 18 years, but I to get other opinions before I just say the compressor is bad! if it were a older vehicle, i'd know where to look first, but since this is a new one, I don't exactly know where to start first!
