my 2003 chevy suburban 4x4 light switched from 2x4 Lo to the red neutral

light has this happen to anyone else? somethimes it goes from 2x4 LO to auto 4X4 AND TO 2x4 HI also the dashboard message center said service AWD it has 72.045 miles on it .is this a big problem/ a big fix$$/
