My 2003 2.3L ford ranger sputters, shakes when I accelerate and when the AC is on, it is even worst. It is fine when it is idol. The check engine light is on. The code said crankshaft position censor. I replaced it and the light is still on and still comes up with the crankshaft position censor code. What else could be the problem? Would the trigger wheel possibly cause this?
Only after about 60mphs it does this. The idle will be a little shaky when I first start it in the morning. Once I start driving it is fine.
Has 78k miles too.

I wonder if your harmonic balancer is bad. It could be cracked. The balancer is connected to the pully that is connected to the crank shaft. Its right behind the pulley. I don't think it would be the sensor its self. I belive something is shaking the sensor and giving it a bad read. Check your motor mounts and if they are bad and if you have a clutch I would make sure that is good to. Also to keep it simple, lol before any of that did you clear the computer with the diagnostic machine? You must do that to clear the codes on your OB2 system. If you have done that then try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and hooking it back up. This will also clear your trucks computer system and start from scratch. If none of the simple stuff works then try want I suggested in the begining.
